- Begin planning process with suite of assessments, and assist students in understanding their interests, strengths, goals, etc., for effective college and major exploration/selection
- Build a list of colleges where the student will thrive and graduate, not just be admitted
- Help students by using tools developed in corporate marketing to create stand-out, cohesive applications, essays, and supplements, that demonstrate how they’re the right fit
- Teach strategies for crafting impactful application essays/supplements; assess, comment, and suggest edits
- Determine which standardized tests are appropriate – ACT or SAT
- Ensure that appropriate academic requirements are being met
- Recommend extracurriculars such as enrichment programs, internships, and summer jobs
- Visit 20-30 colleges annually for updates and to assess potential for “fit”
- Prepare students for college visits/interviews with mock Q&A
- Direct development of materials for special situations, e.g., athletic recruiting and arts programs
- Navigate financial aid and scholarship options
